Ethel was married to Oral V. Clary on October 17, 1945. He preceded her in death on December 25, 1985. To this union one daughter, Trudy, was born. She died in infancy. After her death, Ethel and Oral took one of her nephews, Duane Long, into their home to raise. They lived in Sedalia for 22 years before moving to Clinton in 1986. She was a member of the White Oak Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Oral V. Clary; her daughter, Trudy; five brothers, Cecil Long, Charles Long, Leroy Long, Loren Long and Raymond Long; two sisters, Clara Odle, and twin sister, Esther. She is survived by Duane Long and wife, Debra, Alvarado, Texas; two sisters-in-law, Ruby Long and Betty Long, both of Clinton, as well as numerous other nephews and nieces, cousins and friends. Graveside services were held at the White Oak Cemetery, Urich, on Monday, October 20. Burial was in White Oak Cemetery.
