Cpl. Arthur James Miller, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Conery Miller of Waco, was born on Aug. 4, 1921. He entered the Army on Feb. 4, 1943, and was sent to Camp Wolters for training in the Q.M. Dept. In Oct., 1943, he was transferred to Camp Rucker, Ala., to serve with the 827th Amp-truck Co. as a driver. Cpl. Miller spent 18 months in the European Theater of Operations, serving in England, France, Belgium, and Germany. He hauled food, equipment, and supplies under heavy fire for the Rhine river offensive. While overseas, he made a good record driving for the 1128th Engineer Combat Group. He was discharged at Ft. MacArthur on Oct. 25, 1945.
