VIRGINIA BEACH—Doris Elizabeth Reel, 77, of the 800 block of Silvercrest Lane, went to be with the Lord on June 19, 2007 after a long illness. A native of Waterlily, NC, she was the daughter of the late Callie and Doris Palmer O’Neal. A telephone operator with C & P Telephone Company, retiring after 35 years of service, and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers. She was a member and taught Sunday School for over 30 years at Elizabeth River Baptist Church and also was a member of the church choir and the Women’s Missionary Union.

Surviving are her loving husband, Robert C. Reel; a son, Robert K. Reel and his wife, Faye of Chesapeake; and two grandchildren, Robert G. Reel and Jessica Sykes and her husband, Dave, all of Chesapeake.

A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at Graham Funeral Home, Greenbrier Chapel with Dr. Wayne Cook, Rev. Jack Sheets, Rev. Lucian Thompson, and Mr. Charles Hackworth officiating. Burial will be in Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk
