Warren graduated from Saint Paul Central High School in 1941, and attended Macalester College until enlisting in the Navy after Pearl Harbor. Served as a Lieutenant in the Pacific theater on the U.S.S. Barrow, participated in the landing on Iwo Jima. Graduated from Macalester College in 1947, and joined Pennig Asphalt, becoming president in 1966. He continued his education over a lifetime, earning a B.B.A in 1973, Paralegal certification in 1976, and a B.S. in History while in his seventies. In 1975, he began serving as Office Manager/Administrator at the Saint Paul Law Center, as well as a self- employed business consultant in cash management and legal services. Best remembered for his kindness, compassion, ethics and empathy, Warren abounded in humor and curiosity, demonstrating a sincere concern for humanity and an abiding faith.
