Charles Billy Lam, 67, of Elkton, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, June 25, 2011. He had been ill for one year.

Mr. Lam was born May 16, 1944, in Page County, and was a son of the late Charles Richard and Alpha Mae Lam.

Billy graduated from Page County High School and was a member of the Sandy Bottom Holiness Church near Elkton. He worked at AMP Inc. and retired from Rockingham County Schools. Billy loved spending time with his family, grandsons, Aaron and Todd, and deer hunting. Billy loved the Lord with all his heart and was faithful to his church.

Mr. Lam is survived by his wife, Joanne Lawson Lam; son, David Ray Lam and wife, Brenda, of Elkton; brothers, Carl Lam and wife, Ellen, of Elkton, Larry Lam and wife, Peggy, of St. Lucie, Fla.; sister, Sandra Faye Eppard and husband, Jerel, of Elkton; grandsons, Aaron and Todd Lam; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Garland and Alice Lam.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at the Upper Room Church near Elkton. Pastors Eddie Deane and Barbara Hensley will conduct the service. Burial will follow in Elk Run Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Kyger Funeral home in Elkton. Friends may also call at the Lam home at anytime.
