Marie Pearl Williams, 82, of Elkton, passed away June 25, 2011, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Williams was born May 20, 1929, in the Swift Run area of Elkton, and was a daughter of the late Bennie and Minnie Pearl Shifflett Roach.

She was an active member of the Beldor Mennonite Church and enjoyed gardening, cooking and flowers. She retired from VMRC after 20 years of service.

On Aug. 27, 1947, she married Raymond Junior Williams, who preceded her in death on Feb. 17, 1990. She is survived by sons, Ray Williams and Randall Williams and wife, Nona, all of Elkton; brother, Bennie Roach Jr. of Harrisonburg; sister, Doris Jean Gooden of Elkton; four grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Randolph Roach.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at the Kyger Funeral Home Chapel in Elkton. The Rev. James Akerson will conduct the service. Burial will follow in the Williams Family Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton.
