Snowdie was the oldest of seven children born to Columbus Albert and Elsie (Kivett) Bivens. She married (1) Bruce Carmel Durham in 1925 and they were the parents of three children: Kenneth D., Dapheen Carol, and Barbara Elaine. She married (2) Oscar Everett Vestal.

BURLINGTON - Mrs. Snowdie Bivens Durham Vestal, 67, of Burlington died Wednesday at Edgewood Manor following three months illness. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Rich & Thompson Chapel.
Surviving are husband, Oscar E. Vestal of Greensboro; daughters, Mrs. R. Curtis Jordan of Burlington, Mrs. Kemper Lee of Charlotte; son, CM/Sgt. Kenneth D. Durham of U. S. Air Force at Clark Field in Manila; sister, Mrs. Tony C. Ketner of Raleigh; brothers, Clifford A. Bibens of Miami, Fla., A. A. Bivens of Galveston, Tex., Percy Q. Bivens of Reidsville.
She was a native of Danville, Va., and a member of the Episcopal Church of Holy Comforter in Burlington.
