John Shockley Adams, 92, of Stuart, died Wednesday, January 26, in R. J. Reynolds-Patrick County Memorial Hospital
A Patrick County native, he was a son of the late Isaacs Adams and Nancy Harris Adams.
He was a retired machinist from United Elastic Corporation and was a member of Stuart Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Minnie Pearl (Reynolds) Adams of the home; one daughter, Nancy Flippin of Stuart; one son, Ralph D. Adams of Stuart; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The funeral was held Friday at Moody Funeral Home chapel in Stuart. The Rev. Jim Churchwell officiated. Burial was in Patrick Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were Garland Willard, Jimmy McHone, Johnnie Reynolds, Bobby Reynolds, Jim Shelor, Alan Wayne Adkins and Ray Roberson.
Honorary pallbearers were members of the Stuart Baptist Church Sunday school class and employees of Crestar Bank.
