Jimmie Rex Foxx, 77, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2011 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center.
A native of Woodfin and was a member of Newbridge Baptist Church. He had retired from a career in disign with Duke Power in Charlotte and had served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was a son of the late Clyde James Fox and Bessie Minerva Parham Fox.
Surviving are his beloved wife, Margaret Mary Zutterman Foxx of the home; daughter, Rebecca Batchelor of Tomball, TX and her husband Mike and granddaughter Andi; son, James Bryan Foxx of Elkhorn, NE and his wife Kim; grandchildren, Madison and Weston; step-children, Lucy Gibson and Mary-Josette Jones both of Asheville, Dr. Elieen Nugent and Gerard O'Brien both of Rochester, NY, Raymond O'Brien of Boonville, NY and Bryan O'Brien of Madonna House Lay Apostolate in Combermere, Ontario, Canada; 10 step-grandchildren; 5 step-great-grandchildren; brother, John Foxx and his wife Harriett of Hendersonville and 2 nieces; 1 nephew; 2 great-nephews and 1 great-niece.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Tuesday at Newbridge Baptist Church with Rev. Clark E. Henderson officiating. Committal services will be held 12 noon Tuesday at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 AM Tuesday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Newbridge Baptist Church, Beth Anderson Family Center Fund, 199 Elkwood Avenue, Asheville, NC 28804.
