Jason Abbot, the son of John Abbot & Mary Abbot, was born 28 June 1772 at Holden, Massachusetts [MA V/R]

"Commissioned Captain in State Militia" [Boylston Historical Series, pg 214]

On 2 April 1797, Captain Jason Abbot married Mary Morse. Mary (born 12 August 1787) was the daughter of Reverend Ebenezer Morse & Persis Bush. [Boylston M/R]

Captain Abbot was involved in many real estate transaction in the Town of Boylston. The Captain Jason Abbot Tavern located at 4 Church Street, Boylston, was built c. 1800 and was utilized as a tavern by Captain Abbot from about 1806 to 1809. His brief career as a tavern-keeper was followed by a much longer one as a blacksmith. His shop was located on Central Street, Boylston.

In March 1812, he became one of the founders of the Shrewsbury and Boylston Baptist Society. [Boylston Historical Series, 2012]

He served as Town Moderator several times from the period 1816-1843 as well as the a Town Selectman in 1816
