Lucy Thurman Parrish, age 86, of Tucson, Arizona, died Sunday, March 14, 2002, at Tucson.

She was born September 18, 1915, in the Goodhope Community near Warren, a daughter of the late Willis Thurman and Margaret Elvyra Beard Thurman.

She moved to Arizona in 1936 and married Felton Parrish in 1939. He preceded her in death. Lucy worked at the Pioneer Hotel and the Lodge on the Desert in the early 1940's. She was an active member of Catalina United Methodist Church, the Southern Pacific Railroad Ladies Auxiliary and volunteered at the schools where her children attended and at Carl Hayden Hospital.

Surviving is a son, Gil Parrish and spouse, Kathy, Tucson, AZ; a sister, Frances Keen, Quitman, MS; 2 grandsons, Jeffrey Parrish and spouse, Greer, Tucson, AZ, and Joel Parrish and spouse, Luz, San Jose, CA; 2 great-grandchildren, Christopher and Alaytheia, San Jose, CA; and many nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Margaret Eileen Parrish.

Visitation at Frazer's Funeral Home of Warren will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 29, until procession time at 1:30 p.m. for a graveside at Reaves Family Cemetery at Goodhope.

Memorials preferred to The Counselor in Residence Program at St. Marks United Methodist Church, 1431 West Magee Road, Tucson, Arizona 85704 or a charity of your choice.
