The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home in Midland on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 from 5pm until 8pm. The funeral service will be Thursday, June 23, 2011 at 2pm at First Baptist Church in Locust, officiated by Rev. Kinney Wallace. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors by Stanly County DAV.
Mr. Eudy was born in Stanly County on October 11, 1930, to the late Jason Adam Eudy and the late Dora Anner Huneycutt Eudy.
He is also preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters and 1 grandson, Danny Ray Mills.
Mr. Eudy is survived by his wife of 59 years, Lois Barbee Eudy of the home; daughters, Faye E.Tucker and husband Arlin of Concord, Debbie E. Mills and husband Michael of Stanfield, Penny E.Whitley and husband Buddy of Locust; son Jerry Allen Eudy and wife Vickie of Kannapolis; and 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Eudy was a retired truck driver for Estes Truck Lines and was a member of the VFW. He proudly served his country in the US Marines during the Korean War. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Locust, where he served as a Sunday school teacher and Deacon. He loved his family and was also known as "Smiling Jack".
