MRS. RUTH R. HOWLES, 83, of Wesley Highland Towers, retired nurse's assistant at St. Joseph Hospital, died in her sleep Wednesday at her home. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Memorial Park Funeral Home with burial in Memorial Park. She was the widow of William A. Howles. She leaves four daughters, Mrs. Wilma Jones of West Memphis, Mrs. Eleanor Kay Shamblin of Cleveland, Tenn., Mrs. Jane Hooker of Cordova, and Mrs. Mary Mosley of West Chester, Pa.; two sons, Sgt. Maj. William R. Howles (USMC, ret.) of Florence, Ore., and Joe W. Howles of Cordova; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Bess Davenport of Alamogordo, N.M., 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
