Ref: Maro Johnson – Robert Love was a volunteer fireman and in the line of duty was killed under a falling wall at the burning of Market Hall at the corner of Dubuque Street and Iowa Avenue in Iowa City, April 28, 1873. He was in one of the last regiments recruited in Iowa for the Civil War and was honorably discharged. The Regiment was not called into service. His wife, Julia Murphy did not remarry. She lived in Colorado for many years but in later life returned to Iowa City and died there in the 1920's.
