Mrs. Plemmons grew up on her families farm (Warm Hollow Farm) in the Spring Creek Community of Madison County, NC. She was a graduate of Spring Creek High School. She moved to Lake Junaluska, NC area with her husband and children in 1961. She was a seamstress by trade, having worked for Belk of Waynesville and later for John Graham Stores of Waynesville, NC where she retired. She moved to Hickory, NC to live with her daughter and son-in-law in 2004. She became a resident of Hickory Manor Assisted Living in 2005.
She dearly loved her family. She was a wonderful mother and Nana. Her true happiness came from doing for others. She reached out to those around her through her cooking and baking, especially her chicken and dumplings, fudge and chocolate cakes. She touched the lives of so many with her sweet and caring spirit, and was affectionately known to those outside the family as Aunt Sara. She was truly a gracious lady.
She was a member of Calvary Road Baptist Church and the Senior Ladies Sunday School Class.
She was also preceded in death by brothers, William Franklin Justice and his wife Lucille Coward Justice, Marshall Dean Justice and Reverend Claude Ray Justice and also a brother-in-law William Smith.
