Velma was born on July 6, 1914 in Rathbone, Michigan to local farmers, Sophronia and Park Strouse. Velma was the youngest of three children. In 1922, she graduated from Ithaca High School as Valedictorian of her class.
In 1923, she married Lyle F. Wilson. For the next forty years, they operated businesses in Wheeler and Merrill, Michigan. They raised three children; Lyle "Bill" William, Larry Leroy, and Susan Ann.
In 1962, Velma and Lyle moved to Phoenix, Arizona where Lyle died in 1966.
In 1970, Velma married William E. Neuzil and they remained together until her passing.
Velma is survived by her son Larry L. Wilson of Phoenix, AZ, and daughter Susan A. Wilson of Portland, OR as well as 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
