Lifelong salesman, at various times managing a Hallmark store, running a territory for Lever Brothers, and running his own collectables store in Grand Island's Connestoga Mall. His great passions, however, were his family, his friends, and sports. He was a devoted husband and father of three children who loved him dearly. He was also a longtime referee in football and basketball, and served as president of Third City Baseball in addition to a long tenure as a coach.
