Helen, age 87, was the daughter of Stephen and Fannie (Garin) Dowding. She was the wife of James D. Cook. Helen was a former resident of Monroe, Mi. and was living with her son, Barton at Gaylord, at the time of her passing. Helen was married January 9, 1925 to James, who had been a former president of Monroe Bank & Trust. James preceded her in death on January 13, 1984. They had lived in Monroe from 1931-1979, where Helen was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church. She was survived by her son, Barton, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Her daughter Barbara Lee Sneider preceded her in death.
