Davis,, William Eugene born 5-9-19 in Ellis County, TX and passed away 3-16-10 in Dallas, TX. Entered 25th Infantry in 1942. Served basic training in Camp Roberts, CA. Engaged in the Pacific Theater in Guadal Canal, Phillipines, and other Pacific Islands. Wounded near Luzon in the Phillipines and recieved the Purple Heart. Also awarded three Bronze Battle Stars. After the war he went to work for Continenral Trailways and later Greyhound for a total of 40 years. Preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Singleton Davis in 1993. Survived by son Donald Lee Davis, grandaughter Amie Buentello and husband Robert and their daughter Chasity. Also survived by grandaughter Diana Marie Verdi and husband Tommy, and their children Melanie and Andrew. Visitation will be 6-8 PM, Thursday, 3-18-10, at the funeral home. Services will be 11AM, Friday, 3-19-10 at Grove Hill Memorial Park.
