John F. Selinsky, 87, of Syracuse , died Tuesday, October 18, 2005, at James Square Health Care Center, after a long illness. Native and life resident of Syracuse . Communicant of Holy Trinity Church and an usher for over 40 years. Mr. Selinsky was a machine operator for the former Porter Cable Company for a number of years, retiring in 1970. Veteran of WWII, U.S. Army, where he served as a cook. Mr. Selinsky was a voting poll inspector for a number of years on the north side of Syracuse . Predeceased by his wife, Gladys Shutes Selinsky, in 1977, and his brother, Raymond Selinsky, in 1994.
Survived by one sister-in- law, Elizabeth Sabel of Syracuse ; several cousins; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at Keegan-Osbelt-Knight Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity Church. Burial in Assumption Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
