Private graveside services will be held at a later date for Mrs. Foust. Burial of the cremains will be in the Sunset Memorial Gardens In Des Moines, Iowa. Arrangements were made through the Slade-O'Donnell Funeral Home in Leon.
Lily Winona Foust, 92, the daughter of Admiral Maury and Maude Lavina (Kime) Weeks, was born October 2, 1910 in Warren County, Iowa. She died on Thursday July 24, 2003 at Westview Acres in Leon, Iowa.
Lily grew up and graduated from high school in Spring Hill, Iowa. She married Carl Cornelius Foust on July 27, 1930 in Winterset, Iowa. The family made their home in Des Moines, Iowa. Carl died on April 4, 1962 following a work accident.
Lily was a homemaker, mother and wonderful mother-in-law. She worked as a cook at Roosevelt High School for ten years. Later she babysat and became part of the children's family, as she would travel with them. Lily enjoyed traveling, raising flowers, and all types of jewelry. About ten years ago, Lily moved to Garden Grove to be closer to family.
In Des Moines, she was a member of the Eastern Star and the Navy Mother's Club.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Carl; brothers, Robert, Fred, Leonard and infant William Weeks; and sisters, Hazel Kreitlow, Vivian Rouse, Virginia Nelson, Helen Anderson and Ruth Pritchett.
