Frances Mae Abernathy, age 74, of Baker Road, SW, Cartersville, Georgia, passed away Thursday, June 2, 2011 at Cartersville Medical Center.
Mrs. Abernathy was born May 4, 1936, in Granger County, Tennessee daughter of the late Vaughn Williams, Sr. and Nannie Guyton Williams. She was retired from Cass Primary School and was a member of Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband; Odie Abernathy in 2003; by brothers, Eugene Williams, Harold Williams and by 3 sisters.
Survivors include daughters; Jeanette & Joseph Meeks and Marless Neeley; granddaughters, Tiana Meeks and Tashina Neeley; sister, Shirley Bagley; brothers, Orville Williams and Vaughn Williams, Jr.; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday morning June 6th at 11:00 A.M. at the Owen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles "Johnny" Cox and Rev. Donnie Summey officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will include Jonathan Doyle, Michael Abernathy, Ronnie Abernathy, Tony Sanford, Thomas Bagley and Kielan Gilmore.
