Mike was the fifth of fifteen children born to John Washington and Elizabeth A. (Lane) Kivett. He married Bamie Ellen Williams in 1911 and they had three daughters: Virla Marie, Ruby Lucille and Ruth Louise. He later married Flossie Morgan and they were the parents of one son: James William.

After Short Illness;
Funeral Wednesday

William Michael Kivett, 68, of 405 Asheboro St., died at Guilford County Home at 12:30 a.m. today. He had been in declining health eight years and seriously ill one week.
Native of Randolph County, he lived here 22 years and was a railroad employee. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Maintenance Men.
Surviving are his wife, the former Flossie Morgan; one son, J. W. Kivett of Greensboro; one daughter, Mrs. Roy Darr, Route 1, Thomasville; four brothers, Alfred of Asheboro, Walter of Siler City, Charlie of Baltimore, Md. and Clarence of Randolph County; four sisters, Mrs. Queen Wright of Siler City and Mrs. Jannie Southers, Mrs. Rose Wright and Mrs. Ella Wright of Randolph County.
Funeral will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Forbis and Murray Chapel, Rev. Norman L. Blythe, pastor of Bessemer Baptist Church and Rev. Marion S. Huske, pastor of Westminster Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Burial will be at Guilford Memorial Park. The body will remain at the funeral home. The family will be at the home of son, 3509 Delancey St.

Funeral was held at 4 p.m. today at Forbis and Murray Chapel for William Michael Kivett, 68, of 405 Asheboro St. who died early uyesterday at Guilford County home. Rev. Norman L. Blythe, pastor of Bessemer Baptist Church, and Rev. Marion S. Huske, pastor of Westminster Presbyterian Church, officiated. Burial was in Guilford Memorial Park. Pallbearers were nephews.
