Argentine Dictator. Served as the President of Argentina from November 1981 to June 1982. He ordered the 1982 invasion of the Falkland Islands that touched off a 10-week war with Britain over the ownership of the islands. He was also one of three out of four presidents who headed the Military Junta from 1976 to 1983 in which over 6,000 dissidents or leftists were killed.
