Elijah Leonidus Hudiburg was my grandmother's father. I do not remember any stories from her about her parents; however, I have found out a number of things about this ancestor through other family members and U S Census.

He came from a family of seven children. His grandfather moved his family from Tennessee to Indiana in 1828. Elijah was second to the last child born to his parents. It seems he inherited the farming from his father; although, he also was a brick layer, carpenter & a clerk in a hardware store. He lived in Indiana, Kansas, & Oklahoma. He died in Anadarko, Caddo Co., Oklahoma. My records show that he and his wife had nine children, one of which was my grandmother. They were:

Wm C b. 1862, Francis M b. 1865, John T b. 1867, Alvin L b. 1874, Mary E b. 1877, Mattie M b. 1877, Pauline P b. 1879, Edith E b. 1882, James H b. 1883.

He is the twin of Lorinda "Aunt Sis" Hudiburg Jobe
