Dexter W. Owens, 67 and a resident of 213 Syracuse Ave., Oswego passed away Sunday evening at Upstate Medical University Center. He was born in West Virginia and was the son of the late James and Sally Crigger Owens. Mr. Owens served in the US Army, US Navy and the National Guard. He was an ordained minister. He is survived by his wife Mary Slaver Owens, three daughters, Linda Briggs of W. Virginia, Jennifer Arbogast and Sabrina Owens both of Washington, one son Richard Owens of Georgia, five stepchildren, Richard Bristol, Jr., Patrick Bristol, Joey Bristol, Timmy Bristol and Tina Bristol. Among his many step grandchildren are Amber Bristol, Joseph Bristol, Jr., Sathanna Bristol and Timothy Bristol, Jr. Funeral services will be held 11:00AM Friday at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home. Burial will be in Rural Cemetery. Calling hours 9:00-11:00AM prior to the service.
