He was a member of Christian Home Baptist Church, where he served as deacon and hymn choir leader, and was a member of AP & B Society No. 15. He was a member of Mount Zion Masonic Lodge No. 524 and a retired employee of Southland Motor Remanufacturing Co. in Charlotte.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Geneva Wise; daughter, Mrs. Gladys Land; brothers, Robert Wise and George Wise, both of Charlotte; sisters, Mrs. Mary Gallman, Mrs. Gladys Johnson, Mrs. Annie Mae Torrence, all of Charlotte; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
