Timothy S. Berkshire, 46, of Valparaiso and formerly of West Lafayette, died Friday, May 27, 2011, at Porter Hospital, Valparaiso, after a yearlong illness.

Born Jan. 14, 1965, to Jack and Donna Schnekenburger Berkshire, he was a 1983 graduate of Valparaiso High School and attended Purdue University. He resided in West Lafayette for many years.

Mr. Berkshire was a former bar owner, and spent many years as a restaurant/bar manager.

Surviving are his parents, who live in Valparaiso; sisters, Jeanne Berkshire (companion: Mike Velasquez) of Valparaiso and Jill Henning (companion: Bob Schurg) of DeMotte.

Also surviving are nieces and nephews, Nicole, Natalie, Gabrielle, and Quinten Henning of DeMotte, IN, Sam Berkshire of Valparaiso, IN; many friends and family. Preceded in death by sister, Julie, and grandparents.

Timothy was well known and respected for his amazing wit, impeccable knowledge of sports statistics, love for his family, and loyalty to Purdue basketball. In recent years he was fortunate enough to attend most Purdue home games. Timothy was a beautiful son, brother, uncle, and friend to many, and will be missed dearly.
