Married 09 Sep 2000 Donald D. Lam of Elkton. Daughter, Taylor Nicole Lam at home.

Misty Lane Lam, 19, of 9020 Cinder Run Lane, Elkton, died Monday evening at the University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville where she had been a patient for the past month.

She was born November 19, 1980, in Harrisonburg and was the daughter of Michael and Cynthia Mongold Dispanet of Mathias, WV.

She was loved and raised by foster parents, Jo Ann and Sherman Shifflett of Rocky Bar.

She had attended the St. Stephen and the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church at Rocky Bar and was a 1998 graduate of Spotswood High School.

On September 9, 2000, she married Donald D. Lam of Elkton.

Also surviving are a daughter, Taylor Nicole Lam at home; a sister, Stephanie Nichole Todd of Grottoes; two brothers, Christopher Michael Dispanet of Mathias, WV, Michael Shifflett of Elkton; grandmother, Elsie Seal of Elkton; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Don and Debra Lam of Elkton; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Derrick and Christine Lam of Elkton.

Pastor James Kite will conduct the funeral 2 pm Friday afternoon at the Elkton Chapel of the Kyger & Trobaugh Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, McGaheysville.

The family will receive friends from 7 pm to 8 pm this evening at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the home of Sherman and Jo Ann Shifflett and the home of Don and Debra Lam.
