Robert Joe (Joe Bob) Wheeler, 72, of Sparta, passed away , May 29, 2011, at White County Hospital.
Mr. Wheeler was born Sept. 7, 1938, in Sparta, to Dewey and Mary Jane Snodgrass Wheeler.
He was a retired truck driver for Roadway and was a farmer.
Mr. Wheeler was preceded in death by his parents; son Dewey Thomas (Tommy) Wheeler; and wife Marianna (Sissy) Phillips Wheeler.
Survivors include his two grandchildren, Hannah Wheeler, Forrest Wheeler, both of Alabama; sister-in-law, Gail Wheeler, of Sparta; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., June 2, 2011, at Hunter Funeral Home, with burial in Plum Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 6 p.m., June 1, at the funeral home. Freddie Copeland will officiate.
Charlie Wright, Bruce Copeland, Chris Goines, Scott Kelley, Jason Bradley and Chris Brewington will serve as pallbearers.
Hunter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
