Barbara accompanied her husband to various military locations as they raised their sons. After his military retirement, the family returned to Northern Virginia.
Barbara obtained a job with the U.S. Government and had a long and honorable career before retirement. She was preceded in death by her father, Grace B.Freeland; mother, Kathleen Wyatt Freeland and brother, George M. Freeland.
AN ASIDE: I met Barbara and Ray Hunter through by second wife, who had known them from Army days. They were devout, kind and enjoyable friends who stood with my wife and I during our marriage vows. They were a very positive influence on my wife's children who, to this day, continue to miss their presence.
