Mrs. Mildred Marie Burdette, 91, of Dickerson, formerly of Darnestown, died Thursday, Nov. 21, at her home. She was the wife of Melvin R. Burdette Sr. who died in 1966. They were married March 14, 1927. Born DEc. 31, 1910, in Damascus, she was a daughter of the late Jesse Clarence and Olive M. Cromwell Covell.
Surviving are six children, Melvin Burdette, Jr. and Donald Burdette, Sr. and wife Ann, all of Virginia; Maynard Burdette, Sr. and wife Shirley of Boyds, Wayne Burdette and wife Ginnie of Dickerson; Larry Burdette, Sr. and wife Lisa of Jefferson; and Geraldine Boswell and husband James of Gaithersburg; one daughter-in-law Louise Burdette of Brunswick; 21 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Mrs. Burdette was preceded in death by one son, David Burdette, Sr. and all of her brothers and sisters, Clarence, Merhl, and Charles Covell, and Maude Castle, Annie Stull, and Mary Freed.
Interment will be in Hyattstown United Methodist Church Cemetery, Hyattstown.
