A native of Germany, Mr. Meriwether came to Louisville when a boy. After learning the bricklaying trade, he became a contractor. He built the Weissinger-Gaulbert Apartments, many of the tobacco warehouses, and the water works at Maysville. He was a thirty-second degree Mason.
Surviving Mr. Meriwether are three daughters, Mrs. Caroline Bradley, Mrs. R. F. Doll and Mrs. Castleman D. Doll; a son, Charles J. Meriwether; two sisters, Mrs. Carrie Suhre and Mrs. Kate Acker, and two brothers, John and Sebastian Meriwether. Funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the residence. Burial will be in Cave Hill Cemetery.
