Mrs. Mehlhouse died at Bridgeport Hospital after a brief illness. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Florence (Reilly) Barnhart and the widow of Albert P. Mehlhouse. Mary Lou was a graduate of West Pittston High School, Class of 1946. She resided in CT must of her life and worked at the Valve Corporation of America for 17 years before her retirement in 1977.

She is survived by her devoted children, James P. Millhouse, Sr. and his wife, Mercedes , John T. Barnhart and his wife, Ann Marie and Ruthann Caiola and her husband Paul; brothers, Jack Winfield Barnhart, Harold Barnhart and Ralph Barnhart; a sister Ruth Marie Cumbo; grandchildren, James, Jr and Christopher J.Millhouse, Jill-Marie Caiola, John Thomas and Jennifer Barnhart and Alyson Caiola. Mrs. Mehlhouse was also blessed with three great-grandchildren, Dylan James, Corey Michael and Rayonna Ruth Millhouse. Three more great-grandchildren were born after her passing, Niko Lujic Millhouse, Mila and Kaja Millhouse.

Mary Lou married Albert on April 2, 1966.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mary Lou was predeceased by three siblings, Thomas Henry Barnhart (1917), Betty Jane Barnhart (1921), and Kenneth Tobias Barnhart (1931); and a brother-in-law Joseph G. Cumbo (2001).

Jack Winfield Barnhart passed away in Wilmingon, DE on June 6, 2005.
A great-grandson, James Phillip Millhouse,III, joined her on July 20, 2006.
Sister, Ruth Marie Cumbo passed away in Pittston, PA on May 7, 2007.
