Marguerite Lillian Bruorton Tindall, 91, widow of Burness Lee Tindall, died Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Tindall was born in Hemingway on November 1, 1919, a daughter of the late James Atkinson Bruorton and Nellie Lillian Baxley Bruorton. She grew up in the Good Hope community of Upper Georgetown County and graduated from Union High School. Mrs. Tindall was the owner of Tindall's General Mercantile. She was a member of Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church and attended Ringel Heights Baptist Church for many years.
Surviving are: a daughter, Patricia T. McClary (Doug) of Georgetown; two sons, Bobby Tindall (Sandy) of Georgetown and Ritchie M. Tindall (Michael Piziali) of Washington, D.C.; four grandchildren, Tracy Harrelson (Chris) and Robbie Tindall (Michelle), both of Georgetown, Dee Banta (Steve) of Pawleys Island, and Chris Tindall (Kim) of Garden City Beach; and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Tindall was predeceased by: two sons, Rodney Tindall and Tim Tindall.
Funeral services will be at eleven o'clock on Friday morning, May 27, 2011, at Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. G. Edward Usher and the Rev. Chris E. Giles. Burial will follow at Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, May 26, 2011, at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home from six until eight o'clock.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to: Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church, 901 Highmarket St., Georgetown, S.C. 29440 or to Ringel Heights Baptist Church, 78 Rubin Ave., Georgetown, S.C. 29440.
