He was born in Buxton, the youngest child of ten, to Willie and Charlotte Tolson. He was a member of International Pentecostal Church of Christ. A WW II veteran, he retired from the City of Virginia Beach with 38 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth M. Tolson; a son, Albert Leston Tolson, Jr. of Currituck; daughter, Linda Diane Banton of Virginia Beach; three grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held Friday, Oct. 19 at Rosewood Memorial Park, Virginia Beach.
