Sondra Jean Winterfield, daughter of Glen Ray and Helen Jean Hans Winterfield, was born May 9, 1956 at David City, Ne. She was one of 4 children.
She received her public education at Rising City and Milford, Ne. Public Schools and graduated form Milford High School. After graduation from high school, she lived and worked at Mcdonald's and as head cashier at the Super Saver in Lincoln, NE.
Aug. 12, 1989, she was united in marriage to Kenneth L. Holthus at Grace Lutheran Church in Seward, Ne. After their marriage, Sondra and Kenneth made their home in Elk Creek, NE. She became a member of St. Johns Lutheran (Stone) church. She was a Sunday School teacher and served as Sunday School Superintendent. She enjoyed crafts, gardening, canning and baking. She loved to give gifts, canned and baked goods to her family and friends.
Sondra passed away at her home in Elk Creek, NE. on July 17, 1996, having reached the age of 40 years, 2 months and 8 days. She was preceded in death by her grandparents and one sister.
Those left to mourn her passing are her husband, Kenneth L. Holthus of Elk Creek. her parents, Glen and Helen Winterfield of Milford, NE. 2 brothers, Randal Winterfield and his wife, Cindy, and their children, Becky and Kelly, 0f Seward, NE. , Martin Winterfield of Greenwood, MO.; father-in-law, Albert Holthus of Elk Creek; brother-in-law, Larry Holthus of Auburn, NE. ; sister-in-law Sharon Martin and husband, David of Statesville, NC and their children, Ryan and Crystal and Crystal's daughter, Austin; sister-in-law, Velda Stewat and her husband of Joshua Tree, CA.
Services held at St. John Lutheran (Stone) Church at Auburn. July 20th.
Interment was in the St. John Luthern Cemetery, rural Auburn, NE.
