Mrs. Diedrich L. (Dorothea Margaretha "Dora" Knippelmeier) Holthus of Johnson, Nebraska died on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 1957. Her age was 72 years, seven months and three days.
Mrs. Holthus was born June 13, 1884, at Febing in Nemaha County. She was a daughter of Herman Knippelmeier and Marie Muhsmann. She was baptized July 27, 1884 and confirmed on April 3, 1898 in St. John's Lutheran (Stone) Church by Rev. J. H. Dirks.
She was married to Diedrich l. Holthus Mar. 23, 1905 in the Martin Luther Church by Rev. F.M. Donath.

The couple started married life on a farm five miles south of Johnson. In 1917, they moved three miles southeast, but moved back to the home place in 1922. In 1947, they moved five miles west of the home place and it was there her husband died Nov. 25, 1949. Mrs. Holthus moved to Johnson April 2, 1956.
Surviving her besides four children are three brothers; John Knippelmeier of Auburn, Ne., Henry Knippelmeier of Minco, OK and Herman Knippelmeier of Minco, Oklahoma.
Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband, son, John; a brother, William; and a sister, Mrs. August Blinde.
Funeral services were held at the Stone Church with Rev. Leo Fontaine officiating. In charge of the flowers were Mrs. Rollie Blinde and Mrs. Glen Burr.
Pallbearers were Rudolph Knippelmeier, Walter Knippelmeier, Edwin Blinde, Herman Blinde, Ted Koerner and Norman Michaelis. Interment was in the St. John's (Stone)Lutheran Cemetery. Casey's of Auburn were in charge of funeral arrangements.
