He was a chamber of commerce manager, 65 years old, married, and a resident of Jacksonville, Texas for 35 years. Informant was Mrs. Juanita Dean; burial was February 7, 1949. Gragard-Spraggins-Swofford was in charge of arrangements.

Last rites for Tom Dean, 65, manager of the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce, were held at the First Christian Church, Jacksonville, Monday.
Officiating were the Rev. Ben F. Hearn and Dr. E.E. Peeples, president of Lon Morris Junior College. Interment was in the Jacksonville Cemetery.
Mr. Dean was credited with organizing the second Boy Scout troop in the United States.
