Betty Carol Mayfield Brown Roberts, 71, of Sparta, went to be with the Lord on May 16, 2011.
Mrs. Roberts taught school 42 years in elementary education.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Oscar Mayfield and Iva Brock Mayfield, and her husband, Vivian Allison Roberts.
Survivors include her children Gregory Eugene Brown, Lisa Carol Parks and husband Lloyd, all of Sparta; stepchildren, Gary Roberts and wife Lisa, Nelouise Geer and husband Larry, Jerry Roberts and wife Beth, Jason Roberts and wife Melanie, all of Sparta; brother, James Winston Mayfield and wife Emily, of Huntingdon, W. Va.; grandchildren, Rachel Clarice Parks, Leah Dawn Parks, Molly Katelin Brown; step-grandchildren, Tania Whittenburg, Terri Robinson, Trevor Elrod, Hannah Roberts, Dylan Roberts, Jonah Roberts, Riley Roberts and Elijah Roberts.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m., May 19, 2011, at Thurman Funeral Home, with burial in Old Bon Air Cemetery. Bro. Jack Farley and Bro. Jimmy Lindsey will officiate. The family will receive friends 6-9 p.m., May 18, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Brock, Donnie Brock, Jim Flatt, Bobby Humphrey, Danny Brock, Bobby Price, Danny Price and Dylan Roberts.
Thurman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
