Funeral services for Mr. Harold Lee Gray, age 87, of Jacksonville will be held Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Friendship Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Smith and the Rev. Phillip Warren officiating.

Burial will follow with military honors at the Corine Cemetery under the direction of Boren-Conner Funeral Home, Jacksonville. The Henderson County Sheriff's Office Honor Guard will also be participating with the Military in the burial honors services.

Harold Gray was born April 11, 1924 in Jacksonville where he was a lifelong resident. He was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church where he was baptized in 1947, and ordained as a Deacon in 1949. He was a Mason and a Shriner. He served in the U. S. Army, was a home builder for many years, and retired after 16 years as Constable of Pct. No. 3, Cherokee County.

Mr. Gray was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Lona Gray, his wife, Loyce Gray and grandson, Bobby Foreman.

He is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Spencer and Nelda Gray of Athens, and Dirk Gray of Jacksonville, two daughters and sons-in-law, Annice and Doyle Foreman of Jacksonville and Deborah and Glenn Pool of Lindale, two step-sisters, Claudine Hill of Jacksonville and Oleta Stubbing of Houston, 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Bradley Gray, Brandon Gray, Joshua Elliott, Skyler Gray, Robby Foreman, and Grayson Foreman. Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of the Friendship Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Corine Cemetery Fund c/o Dale Stewart, 5415 County Road 3305 , Jacksonville, TX 75766.

Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Boren-Conner Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
