Howard James Rupe of Radford, age 52, died Wednesday in Radford Community Hospital.
He was a retired employee of the Lynchburg Foundry Company. He was a past commander of VFW Post No. 776.
Surviving are his wife. Carol V. Rupe of Radford; three sons, Allen Dale Rupe of Minot, N.D., Kevin Dean Rupe and Gregory Scott Rupe, both of Radford; two daughters, Michelle Dawn Rupe of Dublin and Heather Alane Rupe of Radford; his mother and stepfather. Mr. and Mrs. Arnold J. Weiss of Radford; one sister, Lucille Gramm of Radford; and five grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Adventist church with Pastor Raburn Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the DeVilbiss Funeral Home in Radford
