Hugh Dickson Adkins, 90, of
Union City died Friday, Nov 8, 1996,
at 2:05 p.m. Baptist Memorial
Hospital in Union City. He was a
member of a square dancing club in
Henry County.

Services were at 2:30 p.m. Sunday
at White-Ranson Funeral Home
in Union City. The Rev. John Archer
officiated. Burial followed in Obion
County Memorial Gardens in Union
City. Visitation was Saturday and
Sunday.

Ken Davis, Hunter Corum, Albert
Hornsby, Johnny and Thomas Key,
Harold Crittendon and Freemon Harris
served as pallbearers. Honorary
Pallbearers were members of
the Character Builders Sunday
school class of First united
Methodist Church in Union City,
where he was a member for 57 years.

Born in Erin, TN Oct. 30, 1906, he
was the son of Hubert Hebert Adkins
and Blanche Minerva Adkins, both
deceased. He was married to the
former Ruth Bradford Stockton, who
survives. A farmer, he was a member
of the Union City Masonic Lodge
and an avid hunter and fisherman.

He also is survived by a son;
two daughters; six grandchildren and
12 great-grandchildren.
