William Robert David Barnett, son of John May Barnett Sr and Lavina Poag Barnett. Born 23 June 1832 in Wayne Co. Tenn. William died 9 Aug 1895 and is buried along with his wife at the Tolle/Barnett Cemetery in wayne Co. Tennessee
William R.D. Barnett married Sarah Catherine (Kitty)Skillern, daughter of Anderson and Mary Polly Spring Skillern.
William and Kitty raised six children, 5 girls, Martha Elizabeth, Mary (Molly), Margaret Caroline,Eliza,Jo Ann and one son James Barnett that served as one of the longest term Sheriff's for Wayne Co followed by his son Will Barnett.

I look at his picture and there seems to be a twinkle in his eyes and a slight grin on his face and I think that he must have been a fun, parent, uncle and friend.. William is my 2nd great uncle, wish I had more of his life history.
