Robert David (Bob) Mulholland, 96, of Fort Dodge, died Wednesday May 11, 2011 at Trinity Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be Monday May 16, 2011 in the chapel of Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral home at 10:00 a.m. and a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church, with Rev. Shane Deman officiating. Burial will follow at Corpus Christi Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday May 15, 2011 at the funeral home with a Vigil at 7:00 p.m.
Those thankful for having shared in Bob's life include his children; John (Jock) Mulholland and his wife Mary of Fort Dodge, Dr. Richard Mulholland and his wife B.C. of Golden, CO; Dr. Dan Mulholland and his wife Chris of Cedar Falls; grandchildren David Mulholland of Ankeny, Mark Mulholland and his wife Julie of Westminster, CO, Susan Martin and her husband Eric of Urbandale, Matt Mulholland and his wife Trisha of New Hope, MN, Sara Mulholland of Ames, Jana Sloan and her husband Anton, Kim Stephens and her husband Rob, Lori Mulholland, Todd Mulholland and his wife Mary all of Denver, CO; Molly Schmehl and her husband Corey of Cedar Falls, Neil Mulholland and his fiancee Molly Dowd of Cedar Rapids, and Kyle Mulholland of New York City, NY; 15 great grandchildren; brother, John Mulholland and his wife Carolyn of Fort Dodge and many nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Matthew J. and Evelyn (McCutchen) Mulholland, wife Carol, great grandson Hudson Mulholland, and many aunts, uncles, and friends.
Robert D. Mulholland was born February 14, 1915 in Fort Dodge. He graduated from Sacred Heart High School and then attended Loras College in Dubuque. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame, Cum Laude, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Commerce. On November 9, 1939 he married Carol J. Parsons. He then joined his father's Mullholland Reality Company. He was the president of the Fort Dodge Board of Realtors and Vice President of the YMCA Board of Directors. Robert served on the Corpus Christi Finance Committee, on the Bishop's Finance Committee, and on the Corpus Christi Cemetery Board. He made the original donation to start the Corpus Christi Cemetery Foundation. Robert was also on the committee to start St. Edmond High School as well as the committee to start the Marian Home. Robert was a member of the Fort Dodge Chamber of Commerce. He was on the Board of Directors of the Fort Dodge Junior Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Bob will be dearly missed by his sons and their families. He was always supportive and involved in their lives.
