Born October 10, 1941 in Paw Paw, he was the son of the late Arthur Deskin and Sarah Day Kerns.
He retired from the West Virginia Department of Highways and was an employee of Consolidated Orchards Company.
He attended the Mt. View Assembly of God Church.
He was a Capon Bridge High School graduate, Class of 1960.
Surviving with his wife of 46 years, Mary J. Allen Kerns; one daughter, Donna Nester, Paw Paw.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl Kerns and Roland Kerns and one sister, Doris Rinker.
Funeral services were held Saturday, October 23 in the McKee Funeral Home Chapel, Augusta, with Rev. William Fout and Rev. Olin Teter. Interment was in Woodrow Cemetery, Paw Paw.
