A funeral mass for SFC. US Army (retired) Mary Elizabeth Paradise Baldino, 54, will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, May 7, 2011, at Transfiguration Catholic Church, 306 North Pines Road, Blythewood, SC. Visitation for family and friend will be held on Friday, May 6, 2011 from 6 to 8 pm at Dunbar Funeral Home, Northeast Chapel, located at 4219 Hard Scrabble Road, Columbia. Interment will be held at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery.
Mary died Friday, April 29, 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Wurzburg, Germany on March 3, 1957, she was a daughter of Dorothy Paradise of Exton, PA, and the late Leo Joseph Paradise. She was a US Army Veteran serving her country from 1978 to 1997. Mary served as a civilian member of the Training Development Directorate on Fort Jackson from 1999 to 2011. She enjoyed traveling and loved her time stationed in Germany, Alaska, Belgium, Virginia, Maryland and South Carolina. Mary was a proud graduate of Ashford University, class of 2010. She loved to spend time with friends, reading, cooking, entertaining, and had a smile that could light up any room that she was in. Our dear Mary was a loving wife and mother that will never be forgotten.
Surviving in addition to her mother, Dorothy Paradise; is her loving husband, Mark John Baldino Sr., son, Mark John Baldino Jr., mother-in-law, Marie Baldino, brother-in-law, Neil F. Baldino and their families; 6 siblings, Leo Paradise, James Paradise, Patricia Angelos, Alicia Garza, Robert Paradise, and Edward Paradise and their families.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations be made in Mary's name, to either the , 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210, or to the of South Carolina, 2711 Middleburg Drive, Kittrell Building, Suite 108-B, Columbia, SC 29204.
