Nedra June Goodwin. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah on Jun. 30, 1917. Departed on Oct. 21, 2008 and resided in Pasco, WA. Service: Monday, Oct. 27, 2008, 10:00 am. Cemetery: Sunset Memorial Gardens. Nedra June Goodwin, 91, of Pasco, WA, passed on to her Heavenly Father on October 21, 2008 at "From the Heart Assisted Living", where she has resided for the past several months. She was born on June 30, 1917 in Salt Lake City, UT, to Sidney Barke Hanger and Minnie Fairbourne Hanger. Nedra was the youngest of 4 children, having two brothers and one sister. She attended South High High School in Salt Lake City, UT and married Lester C. Goodwin on October 13, 1934. They were later sealed in the LDS Temple on June 6, 1978. Nedra and Les moved to Richland, WA with I.E. DuPont, Inc. in 1943 and became part of the pioneers on the Manhattan Project. In 1957, Nedra and Les made their final move to Pasco, WA and celebrated 55 years of marriage before Les passed away in 1989. Nedra was a homemaker all her life and leaves us with many wonderful, fun loving memories. She always made every holiday a celebration, which we will cherish forever. When we walked through the back door of her home, she would sing, "I knew you were comin' so I baked a cake", which was typically her favorite: chocolate with chocolate frosting. "Nana", as we knew her, always had a candy dish and a cookie jar full for her grandchildren. Nedra was also very active in the LDS church. She loved to visit and never knew a stranger.

Nedra was prededed in death by her loving husband, Les, and her parents, one brother, Alston Hanger, and one sister, Erna Atkinson.

She is survived by her 3 sons, Verl & Joyce of Eltopia, WA, Darrel & Gloria of Pasco, WA, Casey & Sandy of Walla Walla, WA; one brother, Sid Hanger of Salt Lake City, UT; ten grandchildren, and fourteen great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be held on Monday, October 27, 2008 at 10:00am at the Pasco Stake Center, 2004 Rd 24. Nedra will be laid to rest with Les at Sunset Memorial Gardens immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes to have donations made to the Tri-Cities Chaplaincy Hospice house of Kennewick in Nedra's honor.
