WINGATE - Nola Mearl Adcock, of Odessa, passed from this life on Friday, April 22, 2011 at Sienna Care Center at the age of 90.
She was born January 28, 1921 in Wingate, TX to J. M. and Della (Howard) Lindsey.
She married Oran Adcock on August 30, 1940 in Ballinger, TX and they enjoyed 47 years together before separated by his death in 1987. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Mearl owned and operated her beauty shop in Odessa for several years. She was a member of the Ector County Extension Homemakers Club and a member of the ceramic group.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons: Gary Adcock and wife Rita and Larry Adcock and wife Letha, all of Odessa; daughters-in-law: Lela Adcock and Sylvia Adcock, both of Odessa; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
Her parents: J.M. and Della; husband: Oran; brothers: Fred and Bill; sisters: Pearl and Martha; two sons: J.W. and Dewaine; granddaughter: Camilla; and great-granddaughter: Hayley, precede Mearl in death and have welcomed her to her Heavenly home.
A family visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Sunday, April 24, 2011 at Acres West Funeral Chapel in Odessa. Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Monday, April 25, 2011 at Wingate Cemetery in Wingate, TX, officiated by Mr. Lon Dale Briley.
