She was born Oct. 30, 1898, and had lived most of her life in Carroll County. She was a retired, self-employed retail merchant and was co-owner of Kay's Dress Shop in Villa Rica for many years. She had been a member of the First Baptist Church of Villa Rica since 1948 and was a member of the J.O.Y. Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her parents, Owen Edgar and Martha Smith Johnson; husband, Harwell Wesley Johnson, and grandson Dennis Pritchett.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Gwen and George Hollaway, Carrollton; Mrs. Blanche and W.J. Wilson, Austell and Mrs. Frances and C.T. Hughie, Villa Rica; three sisters, Mrs. Mamie Nell Eason, Mrs. Lodemia Pitts and Mrs. Audie Mae Enterkin, all of Carrollton. Three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral service were held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 29 from the chapel of the J. Hoyt Thomas Funeral home with Dr. J. B., Marlow and Rev. Barry Chinn officiating.
Pallbearers included Mickey Moon, David Bell, Ronald and Scott Pritchett, Kenneth Dobbins and Tant Richardson. Interment followed in the Carrollton City Cemetery.
J. Hoyt Thomas Funeral Home of Villa Rica was in charge of the arrangements.
